Operations Manager Job Opening

We have an job opening for a full time Operations Manager here at ESNKY!

This positions primary responsibility is ensuring organizational effectiveness of the shelter while contributing to the development and implementation of organizational strategies, policies and practices.  The team of paid shelter advocates, unpaid social work interns and community volunteers are directly accountable to the Shelter Operations Manager.  As Shelter Operations Manager, the individual will have responsibility for the day-to-day operation of shelter including the following duties:

Staffing, training and supervision of all shelter advocates, social work interns and community volunteers.

Develop and implement procedures to ensure safety and hospitality for staff, guests and volunteers.

Ensure the building and facilities are maintained as necessary to provide a safe and effective environment for guests, volunteers, visitors and employees.

Collaborate with external community referrals, counseling options, housing and employment services as part of a strategy to engage guests in other services.

Maintain guest database and statistics by collecting information for all program participants.

Maintain updated client documentation, emergency information, and assist with resource referrals and tracking client progress within shelter system.

Create and implement staffing schedule to ensure coverage of shelter’s services.

Provide on-call support to staff 24/5 during weekdays.

Conduct monthly staff meeting for entire shelter operations team.

Coordinate volunteer cultivation efforts including conducting interviews, tours, training and scheduling to assist staff.

Solicit volunteers and material donations needed for shelter operations.

Provide one-on-one program work with guests of the shelter, or when critical situations arise.

Complete grant reporting regarding client services provided as indicated by Executive Director.

Prepare monthly operations and mission report for Executive Director.

Facilitate two annual surveys/research projects:  Kentucky PITC & guest satisfaction

Provide agency fundraising event assistance.

Complete all other duties and projects as assigned by the Executive Director and/or Board of Directors.

Qualifications:

A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work and 1-3 years of work experience in the field of Social Work.

Clear evidence of a deep passion for the philosophy, mission, and vision of the ESNKY.

Successful experience in supervisory roles with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

Strong written and verbal communication skills; organizational, conflict resolution and computer literacy.

Ability to work under pressure.  Experience in crisis intervention and problem solving with ability to diffuse situations without escalating the conflict.

Sensitivity to issues surrounding individuals experiencing homelessness, substance abuse, mental illness, or physical ailments.

Salary and Benefits:  This is a full-time position with a salary range:  $40,000 – $47,000. Benefits will include paid time off for vacation and sick, and others as negotiated. Preference will be given to individuals who present qualifications beyond the minimum.
