Paul's New Home

Paul is a senior citizen who has been struggling with homelessness in Northern Kentucky for a long time. After connecting with ESNKY, Paul made the choice to first pursue recovery programs in our community, believing it was a necessary step in starting a new life. ESNKY staff connected him with a community partner who successfully helped Paul through his recovery journey.

When Paul completed this program, he still had no place to call home. Returning to ESNKY, Paul worked diligently with our staff to apply for the Covington Housing List, and eventually secured housing in a publicly-administered community for senior citizens. While he waited, Paul continued to shelter at ESNKY, accessing overnight services including a safe place to sleep, self-service laundry, showers, and the ESNKY Healthcare Clinic.

Now, Paul takes a lot of pride in having his own space and, for the first time in years, his own furniture. Having his own couch, his own bed, and his own table makes a world of difference. It’s more than just furniture to him - it’s a symbol of everything he’s worked for, a fresh start, and the stability that worked so hard to achieve.
