Whew—it’s been hot. How hot? Deadly hot. For the last seven straight days, we ran as a daytime cooling center, opening earlier, staying open later and extending capacity to meet the moment. A total of 367 people came through our doors to cool off, take a shower, do laundry, eat lunch and connect with staff or our onsite nurse. That’s a huge leap from our usual 25 people a day. We are going to hate to see the water bill—but when it’s this hot, we don’t think twice. We know we helped keep neighbors safe and alive. Thank you to everyone who donated $10 to cover the cost of a shower or dropped off supplies. Every bit helps—and it’s not too late to support our cooling center!

You’re invited!
This summer, ESNKY celebrates a decade of compassionate leadership under CEO Kim M. Webb and looks forward to many years with her as we continue to meet guests where they are with dignity and respect. Please join us for a summer celebration as we celebrate Kim’s special milestone.
To celebrate Kim’s 10 years of compassionate leadership, we’re creating a special tribute book to surprise her. If Kim has touched your life as a friend, partner, volunteer, community partner or supporter, we would love for you to share a memory and/or photo to be included in the book to help shower her with gratitude for her accomplishments in making our community a better place for everyone. Please submit by July 4th.
This summer, we are pleased to welcome two Master of Social Work students from Northern Kentucky University to ESNKY. Katie is helping with our work programs while Rick follows up with our program graduates. Of course, they are also helping out in any way we ask. Overall, we are so grateful to have their contributions over the summer months.
