January Newsletter

Dear Friends,What a Cold and Busy January! This past month, we faced frigid temperatures with unwavering commitment. Our 68 regular beds were full every night, and we expanded our reach by transforming our Nav Center into the Kenton County Warming Center. This allowed us to provide warmth and safety to 117 additional adults, offering them a place to sit and rest during the day or night. We also operated the Campbell County Cold Shelter, ensuring 105 adults had refuge from the cold - an effort made possible through a strong partnership with Campbell County Fiscal Court, the City of Newport, host site St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, and dedicated volunteers from Holy Spirit Parish and St. Paul’s.From January 5–25, we provided over 2,000 lifesaving bed nights across both locations. Should the need arise again this winter, we are prepared to return to the RCC facility in Campbell County.Looking back, this effort was the best of humanity coming together to do the right thing. None of it would have been possible without our incredible staff, volunteers, meal donors, financial and in-kind supporters, and a Board that even sent meals to brighten our team’s days. After 10 years, I thought I knew just how generous this community was - but you continue to surprise me.With gratitude & grace,

Kim M. WebbExecutive DirectorEmergency Shelter of Northern Kentucky
