Introducing the 2026 Board Appointees

Jul 1, 2026

The life saving, life changing shelter and services that we provide to adults experiencing homelessness in our community would not be possible without the hundreds of volunteers who give of their time, talent and treasure, including our volunteer Board members.

We are delighted to welcome four new members to the Emergency Shelter of Northern Kentucky Board of Directors:

Taraneh Amoozegar joins the Board in the role of Treasurer and Finance Chair. She is a senior accounting professional at Givaudan, specializing in financial reporting and accounting operations.

Many of you know Taraneh as a longtime volunteer at ESNKY. She has also served on our Finance Committee, and we are delighted to welcome her to the Board in this new role. A graduate of the University of Cincinnati, Taraneh believes safe shelter is a basic human right and is committed to strengthening housing stability and improving access to essential needs across our community.

Greta Elenbaas joins the Board as a member-at-large. She is a risk management director at Service Center Principal Financial Group and brings more than two decades of experience in financial services and risk management.

A graduate of Albion College and the University of Chicago, Greta’s involvement with ESNKY dates back to when we were still located on Scott Street and she first visited as part of the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership NKY program. Greta not only volunteers at shelter, but for the past three years has helped organize our major fundraisers as a member of the Homeless to Hopeful Gala Committee.

Sheila Oeder joins the Board as a member-at-large. She is a senior vice president in Workplace Investing Relationship Management at Fidelity Investments, leading a global team of over 200 associates and supporting more than 13,000 clients. She brings nearly 30 years of financial services expertise to the board.

Sheila also brings a passion for service, strategic leadership, and a commitment to strengthening our community: last year, she served on the ESNKY Governance Committee. Her prior nonprofit and leadership contributions include board service with Dress for Success Cincinnati and being a founder of Fidelity’s regional women’s leadership group.

Sheila holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics and Human & Organizational Development from Vanderbilt University and a master’s degree in Applied Economics from the University of Cincinnati.

Maddie Sheets joins the Board as a member-at-large. Madison is an accounting professional with a background in financial auditing and a passion for serving her communities. A graduate of the University of Dayton, where she earned a bachelor's and master's degree in accounting, she has held numerous leadership roles focused on financial stewardship, mentorship, and collaboration.

Madison is proud to serve on the Board of Directors for Emergency Shelter of Northern Kentucky, where she is committed to supporting the organization's mission and helping create pathways to stability for neighbors experiencing homelessness.

Additionally, Tricia Watts is departing the Board after several years of dedicated service:

Tricia currently serves as the Executive Director for WAVE Foundation, the nonprofit partner of the Newport Aquarium. Tricia has always brought a growth mindset and a wealth of non-profit knowledge to her time at ESNKY. She has been volunteering since she was a child in her hometown of Hazard, KY and her first involvement at ESNKY began with serving meals and doing laundry at the former Scott Street location. She has since served on the ESNKY Board of Directors as Communications Committee Chair, Vice Chair, Chair and Past Chair. She will remain a tireless advocate for our neighbors experiencing homelessness and a meals volunteer, bringing her love of cooking to the ESNKY guests.

Please join us in thanking Tricia for her leadership, vision and dedication and welcoming these talented women to the Board!
