Extreme Weather Warming Center

This weekend will be dangerously cold, and no one should be sleeping, or trying to survive, outside in this weather. It can be deadly.

The Emergency Shelter of Northern Kentucky is activating a 24-hour Warming Center under White Flag procedures, in partnership with Kenton County and the City of Covington, to make sure our neighbors have a safe, warm place during this storm.

Warming Center will operate Friday, January 23 at 5:30 PM through Tuesday, January 27 at 9:00 AM, serving adult men & women (18+) who are experiencing homelessness.

Once shelter beds are full, we will continue operating under White Flag, using additional space in the Navigation Center. Our building is warm, and guests can access meals, coffee, showers, laundry, and community, supported by staff trained to respond in moments like this.

At the Emergency Shelter of Northern Kentucky, our work is Life Saving, Life Changing year-round. When temperatures drop this low, we take action and focus first on the Life Saving part of our mission. In partnership with Kenton County and the City of Covington, we are opening our doors as a Warming Center to ensure no one has to suffer in the cold, especially during a federal holiday when many public buildings are closed.
