It’s not as quiet as it seems…
Yesterday morning at 9 am the guests left for the last time as we closed down the 2015-2016 winter life saving program. While we will not be sheltering anyone at night in April, we will be busy in other ways. We will continue to answer the door and phone to meet the needs of the homeless. Time will also be spent interviewing men for the first 30 spots that will be open on May 1 for our summer recovery program. Cleaning, painting and organizing will take place as we move beds around to make room for living areas for the recovery program. We will also continue to stockpile items needed for both the recovery program and for the shower/laundry program that will begin on May 2.
So, while the mattresses are rolled up, beds stripped and hallways are empty at 5 pm, we are very much working to continue to be life saving and life changing for the homeless.
